Knitting for the Experienced Beginner: Lace Shawl

Wednesdays, November 8, 15, & 22

2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Ages: Adult (18 and up)

Experienced Beginners must know how to read basic patterns, knit and purl.

Student Supplies:

  • Yarn: DK weight, any color, 3 balls at 246 yards each
  • Needles: #9 circular knitting needles with a 32” cable or larger

Get comfortable in the next step of your knitting adventure by knitting an all-lace shawl. Students can learn a simple seam to transform this shawl into a shrug. Demystify lace patterns with this entry-level project. Lefties welcome. Students need to be able to read basic patterns, knit and purl.

All materials are included with a $15 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Materials fee includes notes and pattern from instructor.

About Instructor:

Ro has been knitting since she was 5 years old! She has taught a variety of knitting and fiber arts classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown. Ro is an active member of her local knitting group and enjoys demonstrating her work at the Folk School’s Fall Festival and regional art walks. She lives in the North Georgia mountains with her husband Ron.
