Adult & Child ages 7-14 (tuition is for one adult and 1 child)

All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Learn together with a young person in your life in this interactive kid-friendly cooking class. We will prepare cheese quesadillas, fresh salsa, rice, and beans with minimal equipment and lots of fun. Go home and impress your family and friends with your new cooking skills after enjoying this engaging cooking class together. This class is designed for one adult to work with one youth between the ages of 7 and 14.  

All food items per pair are included with a Materials Kit Fee of $30 payable to the instructor at the time of the workshop.   

*Materials fee is determined by the number of participants and cost of goods at the time of the workshop. 

*Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

Terra Ciotta moved to Murphy, NC, in August 2018 to take over the culinary program at Tri-County Community College. Prior to moving to Murphy, she was a culinary instructor at the Art Institute of Charlotte. Terra took up the role of the Folk School's Resident Artist in Cooking in February 2019. With over twenty-five years of experience in professional kitchens, plus ten years in post-secondary culinary instruction, she offers a well-developed blend of food and teaching skills to help students develop their own cooking talents. Chef Terra's particular culinary interests include local foods, history and culture, fine dining, and traditional cooking techniques.
