Learn to carve a folk-art rooster with a knife and natural materials you can find in your own backyard. Students will learn basic knife skills and safety and leave empowered to carve more roosters at home. The finished rooster is approximately 3 to 4 inches tall depending on the size of the branch. Students can expect to finish two  depending on their pace. Students are welcome to bring their own carving knives if they prefer to use them; Nikki will have knives for those who need them. Finished pieces will need to dry out for a few days before embellishing with color.
