All levels are welcome. No experience required.
Students Please Bring:
- Note taking materials.
- Bring shoes that have a smooth sole (leather, or soles that are flat and slide well).
- If you want to wear tennis shoes, you can purchase Dance Sox online to support fluid movements, adjustable for grip.
- Note taking materials.
- Phone or recording device to capture steps for practicing at home.
- (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.
Singles or couples come learn about the basics of social ballroom dance focusing on salsa. You will learn how to ask a partner to dance, how to properly hold and move with a partner, direction of dance, and basic dance etiquette. To give you the chance to build skills, and make new friends, we will switch partners during the hour.
Instructor provided materials are included with an estimated $0 FEE PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Monica has been fascinated by dance for the majority of her life! As she was growing up around the John C. Campbell Folk School, she started getting involved with their events, volunteering, crafting, and performing in many capacities. She is currently a member of several local dance teams including Dame’s Rocket Northwest Clog Morris Dancers, Rapper Magic Sword Dancers, and The Folk School Cloggers. Monica is a teacher by trade and enjoys helping others learn and grow. When not on the dance floor she enjoys spending time with her family.
