Intro to Songwriting

Ages: Adult (18 and up)
All levels are welcome. No experience required.
Student Supplies:
- Note Taking Materials
- An instrument if you play, or just your voice.
- A recording device or cellphone with voice recording app.
Students will be guided in how to start with an idea and turn it into an original song...for a specific purpose or just for fun! Bring an instrument or use your voice. The instructor will provide one-on-one help, and students can workshop their songs together. Leave with the skills and confidence to go down the road humming your own tune and singing your own song.
All materials are included with a $5 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop.

About Instructor:
Dawn Davis is a published composer and multi-instrumentalist. Her work has been contracted for documentaries such as "The Vaquero Series”, films by J&S Productions of Santa Barbara, CA. She has been active at the John C Campbell Folk School as a Contra Dance musician and as an Instructor for Tune and Song Writing; also performing on a regular basis for the Folk School’s Morningsong presentations.
