All Levels are welcome.

Let's get creative with the apothecary in your pantry! There's an abundance of herbal remedies available in our kitchens, gardens, and grocery stores. We'll talk about incorporating herbs and spices into our everyday foods in addition to learning about some creative concoctions, including fire cider and herbal beverages. Participants will leave with new skills and plenty of recipes to take home and play with. 

All food items are included with a Materials Kit Fee of $15-$25 payable to the instructor at the time of the workshop.  

*Materials fee is determined by the number of participants and cost of goods at the time of the workshop. 

*Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

Students may choose to bring:

  • Apron
  • Note-taking materials
  • Favorite mug for tea sampling
  • Sharp kitchen knife

*Masks are recommended but not required while participating in a workshop or event.

About Bonnie Lenneman:

Bonnie Lenneman (she/they) currently calls Brasstown home, where she explores mountains and creeks, grows medicinal herbs, and learns from plant and fungal teachers. Passionate about good (and wild) food, ancestral skills, ecology, community resilience, and the healing properties of plants, she is a student of herbal medicine, coordinates classes for the Firefly Gathering, and is involved with local farms. She also shares nourishing culinary and medicinal preparations and teaches workshops in the local community through her small business, Hearth and Hedge. A former Folk School work study student and student host, Bonnie has been teaching and assisting Folk School classes since 2015.
