Make a Whisk Broom

Ages: Adult (18 and up)

All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Student Supplies:

• Note taking materials.

Learn how to make your own turkey wing hand broom!  Students will have access to several different colors of binding twine, as well as strands of decorative broom corn grown by the instructor. Expect to make up to three brooms during the allotted class time.

All materials are included with a $15 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop.

 About Instructor:

Melis is a maker and grower living in Macon County, North Carolina.  Originally from upstate New York, she decided to stay in Western NC after interning in the JCCFS garden during the 2022 season.  She makes brooms out of her studio in the Cowee Arts & Heritage Center.
