Natural Hand Dipped Bees Wax Candles

Beginner Level. No experience required. 

Explore the delightful medium of natural, recycled beeswax as we learn to create custom-dipped tapered candles. Hand-dipping tapered candles is an ancient practice that remains mostly unaltered. The process of hand dipping and slowly building layer upon layer of beeswax results in a pair of beautiful candles for the home.  Students will make at least two pairs of candles.  

There will be a 30-minute lunch break. Bring a lunch or explore local dining options.   

All materials are included in the Materials Kit Fee of $15 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop.  

*Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.  

Students Supply List: 

*Wear comfortable shoes for standing and clothes that can get waxy.

Jess Kaufman has an MA in crafts education and is the owner of WAXON Batik & Dye Studio in Asheville, NC. With over twenty years of teaching experience, Jess has taught textile and fiber arts to summer campers, school children, high schoolers, and adults up and down the East Coast. Her enthusiasm for teaching is apparent in every class she leads. Formerly, she founded HappyGoCrafty.com, teaching knitting and other crafts in New York City and North Carolina.
