Regular price Sale price $50.00

Instructor: Dana Bolyard

Tuesday, October 17

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Ages: Adult (18 and up)

Experienced Beginner, must be able to thread a bobbin, sew a straight line and be comfortable with a sewing machine.

Student Supplies:

  • Fabric - please bring at least a 1 yard cut and several fat quarters (pre-cut fabric samples about ¼ yard) of fabric. If you have fabric purchased for a quilt you plan to make, feel free to bring it along with the pattern and you can get a jump start on cutting the fabric needed.
  • The studio space at Olive's Porch is equipped with rotary cutters, fabric scissors, acrylic rulers, and cutting mats. However, if you want to bring your own, please do. If you have a 24"x36" cutting mat and a ruler that is at least 24" long, they will make cutting yardage easier than smaller mats and rulers.

When making quilt blocks, precision is key. This session will focus on the fundamentals of accurate fabric cutting using rotary cutters, rulers and cutting mats. Students should bring fabric yardage to either practice with or from a quilt they are hoping to make (bring the pattern too!) No fabric will be supplied to practice on, please bring your own.

All materials are included with a $0 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop.

*Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.
