About Instructor: After retiring from Nursing, I began to paint, I have always loved to draw, and this seemed like the next step up. Since then, I have taken probably a dozen classes in different subjects such as watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, and a basket class. I continue to take classes as I feel you can always learn something new! I work in several mediums including pyrography, watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, graphite, and colored pencils. I often assist with watercolor classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School, and I am the current coordinator of the Blue Ridge Drawing Group, I occasionally join the Blue Ridge Carvers meetings as well. I will also teach pyrography at Olive's Porch as well. I moved to Fannin County in 1988 and currently make my home in the Dial area with my husband, Reid Carney, my son and his wife, and two dogs. We raise chickens, honeybees, and soon will add rabbits to the mix! Working with my art really makes me feel alive and I love it when I see people appreciate and enjoy my creations!
