Woven Carolina Snowflakes

10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Ages: Adult (18 and up)

All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Student Supplies:

• Note taking materials.
• Apron or clothes that can get dirty.

With simple weaving techniques and basic design and construction, build a simple Carolina Snowflake, increasing in complexity and size to complete a tree topper sized triple star. All levels welcome. Make it a shared experience by bringing a friend or family member and enjoy creating together.

There will be a 1-hour lunch break. Bring a lunch or explore local dining options.   

All materials are included with a $25 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop.

 About Instructor:

Mark Hendry is a full-time artisan specializing in historic handcraft with a focus on using natural materials. With over 30 years of experience as a professional teacher of fine and performing arts, both in private, public, and magnet schools, Mark travels throughout the country teaching all levels and ages. He teaches regularly for the John C. Campbell Folk School & Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, and is currently the director and resident artist for Mountain Heritage Handcraft, located in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
