The class will start with a conversation about wood grain and which trees are best for making spoons, as well as how to use sharp tools safely. Then we will use knives to carve out the shape and hook knives to make the bowl of the spoon. We will also talk about decorative techniques and how to finish your spoon with oil. You will leave with your hand-carved spoon and the knowledge of how to start making your own wooden tableware!
