Ages: Adult (18 and Up)

Experience Level: All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Location: This workshop takes place on the John C. Campbell Folk School Campus. Please arrive at the Cooking Studio in the Davidson Hall Building on the day of the workshop to check in. It is number 4 on the  Campus Map

Students Please Bring:

  • Non-slip comfortable work shoes
  • Hat or head covering
  • An apron (if desired)
  • Note taking materials
  • (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle

Here’s your chance to learn some classic British baking skills in a fun and interactive environment. Students will learn how to make delicious Scones and Lemon Curd, Classic All Butter Shortbread, and a show stopping Sticky Toffee Pudding! We will enjoy our baked goods with a proper cup of tea and celebrate the finer things in life.

There will be a 1- hour lunch break. Bring a sack lunch or explore local dining options.

An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $20.00 THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Megan Lambert, MS, RD is the production manager at Garnet Gals Local Jellies and Jams, a value-added foods company based in Andrews, NC.  Previously, she taught baking and nutrition science at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC and was the foodservice director at Gwynn Valley Camp in Brevard, NC.  She enjoys gardening, fiber arts, and teaching people delicious and simple ways to prepare vegetables!
