Beginners & Beyond Waltzing

Ages: 18 and Up

Students Please Bring:

• Bring shoes that have a smooth sole (leather, or soles that are flat and slide well).
• If you want to wear tennis shoes, you can purchase Dance Sox online to support fluid movements, adjustable for grip.
• Note taking materials.
• Phone or recording device to capture steps for practicing at home.
• (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.

Designed for beginners and beyond, this workshop is great for singles or couples who want to get started waltzing or those who have taken Monica’s previous workshop. For those with familiarity, we will explore cues and how to initiate a turn. We may be switching partners to build skills throughout the workshop.

Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Monica has been fascinated by dance for the majority of her life! As she was growing up around the John C. Campbell Folk School, she started getting involved with their events, volunteering, crafting, and performing in many capacities. She is currently a member of several local dance teams including Dame’s Rocket Northwest Clog Morris Dancers, Rapper Magic Sword Dancers, and The Folk School Cloggers. Monica is a teacher by trade and enjoys helping others learn and grow. When not on the dance floor she enjoys spending time with her family.
