Ages: Intergenerational (16 & Up) Minors and one adult must both be signed up for the same workshop in order to attend.

Experience Level: All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Students Please Bring:

  • Apron or shirt you can get paint on.
  • Enthusiasm to make something beautiful
  • Note taking materials.
  • (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.

In this workshop students will be introduced to the wonderful world of printmaking through linocut. Students will learn the history, tools, and unique skills required by the craft to create a strong composition and cohesive design. The workshop will guide students from start to finish through the planning process, helping them navigate the unique way in which designs are planned in the "reverse".  Next, we will take an in depth look at the carving process, working through carving techniques and common errors to avoid. Lastly, we will get our hands dirty by experimenting with the printing process. Upon completion, students will have their very own reproducible linocut print.

There will be a 1-hour lunch break. Bring a lunch or explore local dining options.

An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $30.00 THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Anna Rose is a former art educator and the artist behind Good Seed Craft Co. Residing in the beautiful mountain town of Andrews, NC and most often working from the comfort of her dining room table, Anna Rose uses the simplest tools to create her linocut prints exploring the natural world and the way that spirituality and humanity is reflected therein.
