If you’re a fiber artist wanting to improve color combinations for your textile creations, this one-day workshop is for you. Become familiar with the properties of color: value, intensity and temperature by color mixing with watercolor. Instructor guided exercises will include mixing color opposites to neutralize, plus, mixing a primary triad to create secondary and tertiary hues. Additional exercises will include creating color schemes, such as analogous, split-complementary, etc. Students will be shown how to use a color wheel along with an overview of the principles and elements of design because it not just which colors are used, but how are they arranged. The color mixing exercises will become valuable reference charts for future knitting/weaving projects along with using a color wheel to create your unique color statement.
An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $35 - $45.00 THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.
* Workshops are subject to low enrollment cancellation if the minimum number of 4 students is not reached. If you have any questions, you’re welcome to call Olive’s Porch for up-to-date enrollment information.
