Creative Travel Journaling

Ages: 18 and Up

Learn easy, playful ways to capture your travels on the page. Through simple list-making, quick sketches, and loose pen-and-ink with watercolor, you’ll discover how to record the small moments that make a place memorable. No drawing experience is needed—this class is all about curiosity and enjoyment. Participants will receive a small travel art kit and a set of prompts to inspire journals for trips near or far.

There will be a 1-hour lunch break. Bring a sack lunch or explore local dining options.

Experience Needed: All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Students Please Bring:

• A favorite pen
• Any travel memorabilia you’d like to include (maps, ticket stubs, postcards, brochures, etc.)
• Optional: a few photos from a favorite trip to spark ideas
• All other basic materials will be provided.
• Note taking materials.
• (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.

An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $5.00. THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Susan Kolb is an artist who loves to travel, observe, and record the small details that give a place its character. Through sketching, words, and watercolor, she enjoys capturing everyday moments from her travels near and far. Susan loves helping beginners relax, notice more deeply, and discover playful ways to bring their experiences to life on the page.
