Ages: 18 and Up

Combine cyanotype and mini linocut prints (using a pink school eraser) to make a selection of unique greeting cards. Students will learn the process of cyanotype on paper then design and carve stamps to apply to their cards. All supplies will be provided. Students are encouraged to come prepared with ideas for their stamps as well as any items they wish to use in their cyanotypes (examples: leaves, flowers, anything with a cool outline). 

Experience Needed: All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Students Please Bring:

  • Ideas for mini stamp patterns.
  • Any materials you’d like to use for cyanotype: leaves, flowers, anything with a cool outline.
  • Note taking materials.
  • (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.

An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at a range of $15.00 - $30.00. THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Catherine grew up crafting and loving the outdoors. She has dabbled in many different art forms from watercolor and print making to quilting and knitting. She loves trying new crafts and learning new skills. Since graduating from Sewanee: The University of the South with a degree in Ecology and Biodiversity, she has been teaching students of all ages how to love, respect, and get inspired by nature. Her passion for engaging students outdoors has led her all across the Southeast and recently landed her in Murphy, NC. She has taught at environmental centers in Alabama, Virginia, and North Carolina, as well as at a forest school in Tennessee. She now has the joy of sharing her passion for crafts as an employee at the John C Campbell Folk School.
