Hand Built Clay Snowflake Ornament

Ages: 18 and Up

All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Have fun making snowflakes that won’t melt! Students will use cookie cutters to make small and large snowflakes. Use for tree decorations or for decorating gift packages. All materials and tools will be provided. Snowflakes will be bisque fired at the instructor’s studio with pick-up arranged, there will be no shipping option. Snowflakes will be hand painted at home by the students to finish.

Students Please Bring:

  • Wear clothing that can get messy
  • Hand towel
  • (Optional) Apron
  • Note taking materials.
  • (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.

An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $15.00 THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Says an artist friend: “Paula’s creative work is infused with whimsy and charm. She is driven by joy and happily shares that joy with others through her artwork. She feels strongly that there’s a spark of creativity in each of us and that art enriches our lives.”

Paula Davis has worn numerous hats. She was a musician in the Air Force (where she played for Queen Elizabeth II), then a typesetter / pasteup artist for a number of printing and publishing companies in Virginia and Florida. In Florida, she found Crealdé School of Art, where she studied photography there and spent a decade as a commercial and fine art photographer. Paula stepped away from the art school for a time to raise their two sons, later returning to Crealdé. This time to study ceramics. During her time at Crealdé School of Art, Paula taught black-and-white film photography and pottery to children and young adults. Along with year-round classes, she was an instructor at the art school’s summer youth Art Camp, school field trips and children’s art workshops at local art festivals. Since moving to Blairsville, GA, Paula has expanded her creativity and her pottery featuring wee sheep and other animals, has been featured at a number of galleries in the north GA and western NC area. Paula has taught clay classes at Blue Ridge Mountains Art Association and Brannon Lodge in Blairsville, and she assists with classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.
