Ring in the holidays with these festive wing-style whisk brooms. Using a unique shaker construction, incorporating bells into the design, and using 18th century techniques, the class will construct these beautiful festive sweeping tools without the use of any machinery. Great to celebrate the season or as gifts for the holidays, no scrooge can resist these jolly jingling sweepers. All materials, tools and décor items for making this broom will be supplied. Some hand strength and coordination are required as students will be using a foot treadle to make their brooms.
Students Please Bring:
- Note taking materials.
- (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.
An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $25.00. THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Max (Mark) Hendry is a full-time artisan and instructor of historic handcraft, specializing in brooms & basketry, with a focus on working with natural, ecologically harvested, renewable materials. With decades of experience as a professional teacher of fine and performing arts in private, public, and magnet schools, Max travels across the country, teaching all levels and ages of students from beginner to advanced, ages 3 to 93. He is director and resident artist for Mountain Heritage Handcraft located in the mountains of North Georgia.
