Spooky Stained Glass

All levels are welcome. No experience required.

Perfect for beginners, this class will guide you through the essential techniques of foiling and soldering glass pieces to craft your own glass ornament. You'll gain hands-on experience with the tools and materials used in stained glass work, with easy-to-follow instructions tailored to first timers. By the end of the class, you'll leave with your own custom suncatcher and the foundational skills to pursue more stained-glass projects. All materials are provided.

Instructor will provide an assortment of stained-glass kits made with pre-cut materials. Kit choices include a cauldron, potion bottle, or pumpkin. Additionally, if those kits don’t appeal, there will be a limited quantity of other kits available including a dogwood flower.

Beginners can expect to finish one suncatcher. Experienced students may wish to make a second suncatcher and can purchase another kit the day of the workshop.

Students Please Bring:

• Closed-toed shoes.
• Apron or clothes that can get dirty.
• Note taking materials.
• (Optional) A snack and/or water bottle. Filtered water is available in the classroom.

An additional fee for materials provided by your instructor for this workshop is estimated at $30.00 - $60.00. THIS FEE IS PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the time of the workshop. Material fees may change depending on the number of participants and price of materials at the workshop. *Payment by cash or check is required for materials fees.

About Instructor: Caroline Teal is an artist based in Murphy, North Carolina, who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University in San Marcos, with a focus on photography and printmaking. Now working in stained glass, Caroline explores the intersection of these mediums, seeking ways to blend the tactile, hands-on approach of craft with the conceptual framework of fine art. Her work reflects a deep interest in the stories of craft makers, investigating how their practices contribute to the larger dialogue of art history.
